Lettuce and cabbage are ready for the first run of the weekend! 😊

    Edited

Because it seems many don’t read comments before asking “why…”, the lettuce is being freeze-dried because my wife accidentally bought it in a hurry at Walmart. I wasn’t keen on driving 30 minutes to return it, and I didn’t want to waste the food. So, I’ve decided to freeze-dry it. I plan to powder the lettuce and add it to soups and smoothies, just like I do with other powdered veggies, sneaking them into my autistic son’s food. I have to incorporate veggies whenever I can 🤷‍♂️.

    EDITED AGAIN

I added pictures of the finished product in the comments. They are in Ziplock bags until I get around to making powder or bagging them up later today 💕.

Iceberg? There’s almost no nutrients in iceberg lettuce

I think you will be very disappointed in the lettuce. Have you ever accidentally frozen your lettuce? It’s a droopy, soggy mess when it thaws. The reconstituted consistency of FD’d lettuce will be the same as if you put lettuce in the freezer and then let it thaw. Not appetizing.
